Life is A Highway

There was quite a bit of windshield time for the Farm Rescue crew and volunteers this week as they headed home or transported equipment from one case to the next.

The Plains, Kansas, crew finished cutting grain sorghum so the family could concentrate on healing instead of worrying about harvesting. Our volunteers were happy with a job well done and brushed off as many sandburs as they could before they headed home.

A Shickley, Nebraska, farmer recently suffered a stroke and needed help with his corn harvest as he continued his rehabilitation and recovery. One of our Angels in Blue is working with other family members to keep the operation running smoothly.

One of Farm Rescue’s air seeders was successfully refurbished with the help of some dedicated volunteers. Thanks to their time and effort, our equipment will be up to the task of helping farmers in crisis plant their crops next spring.

Norsk Hostfest was kind enough to sponsor Farm Rescue’s booth at this year’s celebration. Known as North America’s largest Scandinavian festival, Norsk Hostfest features genuine cuisine, skilled artisans and top-tier entertainment for attendees. Farm Rescue was honored to participate and celebrate the culture of North Dakota!

We are also honored to recognize our fantastic volunteers that stepped up this week, including Skip Henton, Albert Lautenschlager, April Lautenschlager, Louis Lautenschlager, David Endorf, Garry Deckert, Gary Krieger, Mike Youngblood, Mike Wilson, Harrison Schweitzer, Shaun Sipma, and Scott Williams.
