Combines aren’t known for their swiftness, but the harvest season has sped through this fall. Farm Rescue kept the pedal to the metal to be where we could best help farmers and ranchers in crisis. Not literally, because that would be bad, but figuratively.
An Enderlin, North Dakota, farm family needed some help with harvest after an unexpected and tragic loss. Our Angels in Blue were able to bring in their crops and ease their financial strain. Farm Rescue’s volunteer board of directors also paid a visit to this case to witness these efforts firsthand. They also joined the field crew, piloting our combine for the final acres of corn.
Dyersville, Iowa, is home to another farm family dealing with a very similar situation. Their crops are being harvested and they have one less worry on their shoulders.
A farmer in Garnett, Kansas, is facing treatment for an unexpected illness. Our volunteers were able to extend some much-needed help, despite some weather challenges.
A Mandan, North Dakota, farmer got side-swiped by Mother Nature and his cow herd was in need of winter forages. Thanks to a generous hay donation and our volunteer truck drivers, his cattle will be chewing their cud as the snow flies.
We’re making a pit stop to say a hearty thank you to our volunteers this week, including Todd Thompson, Shaun Sipma, Kyle Nelsen, Bill Gross, Mark Madler, David Endorf, Nate Kopesky, Randy Woods, Andy Jewett, Kenneth Chyle, Emil Baranko, Dean Larson, Carl Benck, Larry Heyen, Tim Marquardt, Mark Gerdes, Luke Fleischmann, and Gary Kline.
