It’s been a hot, rainy Summer up here in the Red River Valley. Regular moisture has greatly greened up the crops and the corn beat the old “knee-high by the Fourth of July” adage easily. The rain is a blessing on one hand, but makes cutting and bailing hay tricky.
We’ve begun several haying cases recently. In Driscoll, ND, we’re cutting hay for a farmer who is recovering from rotator cuff surgery to repair an injury by one of his cattle. Near Lemmon, SD, a farmer had his tibia broken by a kick from his horse. We are helping him cut and bale hay as well, between bouts of rain.
The first of the harvest applications have begun to come through, especially as wheat harvest begins for the more southerly regions of our service area. Do not hesitate to recommend us any farmer you may know who is in need of help with harvest this year!
Enjoy the Summer and stay safe everyone!
